Construction Site Perimeter Checklist for Ontario Projects

A construction perimeter should support access control, public separation and changing site operations. Planning it early helps avoid blocked deliveries, incomplete boundaries and last-minute panel moves.

Mark the full boundary

Identify property limits, public sidewalks, neighbouring access, excavations, material-storage areas and equipment routes. Note every location that needs a personnel or vehicle gate.

Review surface and exposure

Document pavement, soft ground, slopes and exposed areas. If screening will be installed, include it in the stability review because it changes wind loading.

Coordinate inspections

Assign responsibility for checking panels, connectors, gates and bracing during the project. Reinspect after severe weather, impact or any layout change. Project-specific legal and safety requirements should be confirmed with the appropriate professionals and authorities.
